When you read this, make sure you take notes. You’ll need them

So far it’s just fantastic! I tried film classes, this is light years better. It’s a must read for filmmakers and actors alike.

This book is just as amazing as the one she wrote 25 years ago. However this book packs a much bigger punch. It’s the way she simply changes a film director mind that you carry her lessons over into your personal life. In fact Judith makes film and your personal life one in the same. I highly recommend this book from cover to cover.

Absolutely amazing book. Probably the most practical, detailed, useful book on the topic. It’s one of the most useful books I’ve ever read in general. It’s easy for experts to talk in abstraction, but when you find one who can actually give you actionable advice based on experience, that’s amazing. Must read.

While I doubt I’ll ever have the chance to direct a film some of what I do is adjacent enough that this book seemed worthwhile and I certainly get why it’s held in such regard. Judith Weston clearly understands people and has an amazing sense of empathy. Really the advice here can extend to a lot of professional environments. That said, if you are interested in filmmaking, this book gives a great, actionable look at the creative nuts and bolts of what actually happens on a film set when it’s finally time to shoot. Weston shares a ton of resources and the appendices at the end are like their own little mini guide.
M. Yablonovich –
This is an amazing book with great wisdom for directing and for life. Totally indispensable. (I did a weekend course with the author like eight years ago but have had no contact with her since then.)

This book is an actor’s bible. Full of useful information written in a way that makes you feel like Judith Weston is talking to you, sharing stories and insights with a friend. Her examples are specific yet somehow allows you to dig deeper for yourself. Highly recommend.

O livro é incrível, já tinha lido alguns capítulos em PDF, mas queria muito o físico e me decepcionei com a compra.
